2. Download Drivers for galaxy note 32 bit X86 windows here or 64 bit X64 windows here.

3. The battery life of your device should not be less than 60%. to finish the update without turning your device off.

Now here are the step by step guide/procedure on how to Update Galaxy Note N7000 with Official ICS 4.0.4 XXLRQ Firmware

1. Let's start, first download XXLR1 Firmware Package here and Odin here

2. After downloading extract both package in your computer and get the tar file name N7000XXLRQ_N7000DBTLRQ_N7000XXLRK_HOME.tar.md5 and odin executable file

3. Now Open odin tool in your computer.

4. Turn off your device to enter download mode.

5. Now enter to download mode by pressing volume down button + ok button while holding both simultaneously press the Power Button.

6. Then a warning message will be shown just press the volume up key so that it will continue to enter download mode.
7. Now click PDA to select N7000XXLRQ_N7000DBTLRQ_N7000XXLRK_HOME.tar.md5 and click start to start the firmware process update.

8. Now it will take 4-5 minutes to process the firmware and when done the device will reboot on its own where you can see progress bar which indicate progress firmware update.

9. Disconnect your device and follow the instructions to use the device in normal mode.

Note: if you are getting force close errors, turn off device enter in recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition then reboot device by select reboot system now using volume rocker keys.
